Wear Plate

Wear plate is designed for components exposed to abrasive material flow or contact. The wear mechanism, impact level, temperature and fabrication route should guide grade and thickness selection.

What to specify

Include the details below so the material can be checked against the intended application and current availability.

• Required grade or approved equivalent
• Nominal hardness and toughness needs
• Thickness and finished dimensions
• Wear, impact and temperature conditions
• Cutting, holes, forming, welding and quantity

Applications and selection

Uses include liners, buckets, hoppers, screens, truck bodies and handling equipment. A higher hardness is not automatically the best option for every impact or forming condition.
